Covering Your Acne Using Make-Up (continue)

For those with sensitive skin make sure that you select light, non-greasy make-up and non-cometigenic product (as explained earlier). There are numerous foundations and powders available for sensitive skin.  People with especially oily skin might want to use a powder, as it serves as a modifier and can help control the oil on your face.

Look for product the were especially made for sensitive skin and contain medication that works on your skin while you wear the makeup. This is especially helpful if you have to wear makeup for long periods of time such as all day.

You should remember that acne scar may heal over time and in some cases leaves no noticeable marks, so it may not always be necessary to cover them up.  While the more serious scar may require proper treatment to be taken or you may conceal the scarring indefinitely using make-up.

When covering your acne scarring, take care when choosing a foundation or powder to cover up acne, that you choose a product that is not overly harsh to your face.  If you feel itchiness and burning up on your skin, stop using them.

Choose the right shade for covering your acne scars. You don’t want to draw attention by using a shade that is different from your skin tones and be sure the makeup is applied evenly on your skin.

Make up doesn’t always work. There are times when you will require a concealer cream (available over the counter). This is often used to cover blemishes and can help reduce the appearance of acne. The same goes here, if you start feeling itchy or you notice your acne is getting worse, stop using the concealer. Try a different one.
